Course Overview
Your patient complains of chest pain so you get a 12 Lead ECG. Then the physician calls and asks you what it shows. You put him on hold while you scramble to find the one nurse on your unit that knows how to interpret 12 Lead ECGs. Does this scenario sound familiar? If it does, then this class is for you! Not only will you learn the three "I"s of MI, but you will also be able to recognize the signs of angina/ischemia, axis deviations, bundle branch blocks, and pericarditis. Familiarity with cardiac rhythms will enhance your learning experience.
Some of the Objectives Include:
- List the three "I"s of MI (Myocardial Infarction)
- Correctly identify the coronary artery involved based on ECG changes
- Determine axis deviations
- Discuss treatment of acute MI
Who Should Attend:
- RNs and LPNs employed in Telemetry, Stepdown units, CCU, ICU, and ER
- Paramedics and EMTs
- Cardiac cath lab, ECG, and ECHO technicians
- Respiratory therapists and exercise physiologists
