Course Overview
Over 75% of all patients are placed on cardiac monitors at some point during their hospital stay. Cardiac monitoring, which used to be a requirement for Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room personnel only, is rapidly becoming a mainstay in general medical units. This fast-paced 40 hour basic dysrhythmia course will give the healthcare provider the knowledge and skills necessary to adequately care for these patients. In addition to learning to read the various rhythms, the learner will also gain an understanding of the pathophysiology behind each dysrhythmia. Our updated curriculum involves a discussion of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, a systematic approach to interpreting cardiac rhythms, and the latest treatment for each rhythm, in accordance with the latest guidelines published by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support curriculum. Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate will be issued that can lead to hospital employment as a Telemetry Nurse or Monitor Technician.
Some of the Objectives Include:
